Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become fragile and are more likely to break or fracture. The bones become porous and there is a loss of bone mass. There are many causes of osteoporosis or osteopenia (the precursor to osteoporosis). There is no “cure” but there is no better course of action and self help than using yoga to build bone strength and improve bone density. This 3 hour class will introduce class participants to precautions to employ in a general yoga class to keep you safe as well as ways to maintain erect posture and ways to work at home developing balance skills to prevent falling.
