In our practice of asana, we often focus on forward extensions and backward extentions, but what about the sides of the body? Prashant Iyengar once suggested in class that we could associate the lateral body with the synthetic or lateral mind, a combination of front and back. Come experience poses that help us explore the sides of the body, and learn what they have to teach us about the mind and the breath.
