Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath

with Jim Stockton & Yolanda Williams
Saturday, February 10, 4–6pm

Collaborating with graduates of the CIIS Program in Sound Healing, this series of Sound Healing workshops will harmonize us with seasons and the elements.

The theme of February’s workshop is From Winter into Spring.  We’ll take a restorative approach to the yoga sequence which is masterfully held by a Sound Bath.  Our interactions combine the subtle effects of musical vibrations with the subtle energetics of yoga therapeutics.

Jim Stockton has been teaching yoga in the SF Bay Area, in a number of therapeutic or clinical settings, since the end of the 1990s. In 2003, he graduated from the The Yoga Room’s Advanced Studies Program. Since then, he has worked within and outside of the Iyengar community, primarily with Mary Lou Weprin and Michael Lucy; but also attending extensive retreats with Tias Little, Sarah Powers, and Dharmanidhi Saraswati; and further study within Zen, Vajrayana, and Vipassana meditation traditions. Most recently, Jim’s work has focused on Trauma recovery—both in a San Francisco mental health clinic (Dept of Public Health); working with Vets and PTSD; and observing Japanese yoga teachers work with the trauma sufferers immediately following the Fukushima tsunami/nuclear accident.

Yolanda Williams is an intuitive healer as well as a Therapeutic Sound Practitioner, Certified at the California Institute of Integral Studies, in the program of Sound Voice and Music in the healing arts. In her practice she works to create a safe container for transformation through deep listening and the vibrational power of sound.
