Refining the Basic Poses

We will focus on the basics of the 12 most important poses, seed postures for all other asanas:
1. sitting (your choice), 2. tadasana, 3. uttanasana, 4.trikonasna, 5. ardha chandrasana, 6. standing twist
7. down dog, 8. sphynx, 9. setu bhanda, 10. viparita karani, 11. the ‘anemone’ aka happy baby, and  12. savasana

Day 1 will focus on feeling your alignment through the structure and breath.
Day 2 will focus on the same poses with attention to alignment from the energy body, using the points on the micro-cosmic orbit.
As usual the classes will adapt to the needs and questions of the students in attendance.

Arthur Kilmurray’s classes are explorations in embodied spiritual consciousness, where stillness and vibrancy meet in aliveness and creative self expression. BKS Iyengar’s support and inspiration gave him the confidence to journey into asana practice and discover the ultimate mystery that envelops, nurtures and informs us all. He taught yoga in the SF Bay Area from 1981 to 1992 and Boston from 1992 – 2015. Now living in Ojai, CA, Arthur frequently returns to the Bay area to offer workshops.
