We will practice warm-ups for the chest and shoulders, abdominals, and hamstrings with the ropes, and then move on to standing poses, inversions and some backbends. Working with the wall ropes allows us to take weight off the joints and achieve balanced traction. This workshop is for level 2-4 students with some experience using the ropes wall.
Mary Lou Weprin has taught ongoing classes at The Yoga Room since 1980, and is Co-Director of The Yoga Room’s Advanced Studies Program. She is a firm believer in using the wall ropes to enhance alignment, ease the joints and lower back, and create extension in the body which is unique and difficult to achieve when weight-bearing.
