Whether standing or sitting, or using computers and smart phones, our modern lifestyle can contribute to poor posture and weakened muscles resulting in head, neck, shoulder and back issues. This workshop will offer modified yoga sequences that can be done in the work setting to help alleviate stress and chronic pain. All are welcome.
Margie Cohea, RN, MS, has studied yoga in the Iyengar tradition since 1995. She is a graduate of The Yoga Room’s 500 hour Advanced Studies Program. Her primary teachers are Donald Moyer, Mary Lou Weprin and Michael Lucey. Margie became interested in finding ways through yoga practice to decrease muscle strain and improve her posture while working at her computer. This practice evolved into a weekly workplace wellness yoga practice for her department to help decrease injury from computer use. Margie teaches private and group classes along with workshops that focus on safe alignment and posture, breathing awareness, and relaxation. She is inspired by the curiosity and adventure of exploration that students bring to class.
