Welcome to The Yoga Room

The Yoga Room, founded in 1978, offers classes and workshops in the Iyengar method of yoga. Based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, author of Light on Yoga, this method emphasizes proper alignment and develops body awareness, strength, and flexibility. With our emphasis on personalized practice, The Yoga Room offers alternatives for almost anyone, from expectant mothers, to those dealing with health issues and disabilities, to those who want a truly deep and challenging experience.

We’re happy to announce new classes with Tasha Hansen on Monday evenings, with Ada Lusardi on Thursday mornings and Thursday evenings, and with Jim Stockton on Saturday mornings.

For more indepth explorations of particular subjects, we’ll also be offering three Saturday afternoon seminars in January. As part of her ongoing Yoga Movement series, Gay White will demonstrate techniques for Teaching Movement on January 7. Bonnie Maeda and Shari Ser explore Yoga for Bone Health on January 21. And, on January 28, Ada Lusardi teaches Yoga and Self-Myofasical Release.

Now that 2012 has begun, we want to welcome you, and we hope that you’ll continue to make us a healthful and relaxing part of your lives.
