At the end of chapter seven of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna lists seven reasons that devotees seek the Lord. In chapter eight Krishna answers Arjuna’s questions about those reasons by describing the Lord as the imperishable self of everything in the creation. He presents various scenarios for remembering the Lord at the time of death.

Phid Simons has studied Sanskrit, Vedanta, and Vedic chanting with traditional teachers in India and the U.S. for over 25 years. She has practiced yoga for over 35 years and teaches Sanskrit, chanting, and Vedanta in the Bay Area.
