Come learn about optimal spinal health as it relates to your daily life. Discover how to integrate healthy spinal habits by increasing postural awareness and decreasing muscle tightness. Our time will be spent learning about computer/cell phone ergonomics and health implications, interspersed with simple yoga postures.
Margie Cohea, RN, MS has been a student of yoga in the Iyengar tradition since 1995 and is a graduate of The Yoga Room’s 500 hour Advanced Studies Program. Her primary teachers since graduation have been Donald Moyer, Mary Lou Weprin and Michael Lucey. Margie’s exploration of how proper posture and yoga could decrease muscle strain while working at her multiple computer stations evolved into a weekly wellness yoga class for her coworkers, helping to decrease computer-related injuries for her work group. Margie offers local classes, private sessions and workshops, with an impassioned emphasis on safe alignment and posture, breathing awareness, mindfulness, and relaxation.
Joanne Gatti is a graduate of the Advanced Studies Program, and she has been studying yoga and healing since the early 1990s. As an occupational therapist of 19 years, she has assisted countless patients in regaining the movement and abilities needed to participate in the tasks of everyday life. From this core, Joanne’s yoga classes shine with compassion for the human condition and explore how to find effort and ease in every pose. Why does she love yoga? For the innumerable ways it seems to bring a smile to her face!
