A demarcation between summer and autumn, Labor Day presents us with a sense of possibility and a need for grounding. This day of practice offers a quiet place to make this transition mindfully. We’ll use balancing poses and a focus on foundation and lift to enhance mental balance and clarity. We’ll also practice pranayama and seated meditation with the aim of drawing the senses together with the mind into the heart.
Debbie Gilman M.A., ERYT 500, has been teaching at The Yoga Room since 2000 and is on the faculty of the Advanced Studies Program there. A life-long teacher, she loves sharing the movement-based mindfulness practice of yoga with her students. Debbie’s yoga practice is informed by her study of the history of yoga.
