There is no “cure” for osteoporosis and osteopenia but there is no better course of action and self help than using yoga to build bone strength and improve bone density. This three hour workshop will introduce class participants to precautions to employ in a general yoga class to keep you safe as well as ways to maintain erect posture and ways to work at home developing balance skills to prevent falling.
Shari Ser PT, RYT 500, E-RYT 500, has over 30 years of physical therapy clinical practice and experience and expertise teaching yoga for a wide range of medical conditions. Shari combines her expertise as a physical therapist and a long time yoga practitioner to make her classes safe and accessible to all students who want to practice yoga. Shari teaches beginner level 1-3 classes as well as co-teaches a Yoga for Healthy Aging class for frail community seniors at the Yoga Room. She teaches an ongoing Yoga for Healthy Bones class at the Yoga Room on Sunday afternoons from 4-5:30pm.
